in diesem Fall helfe ich natürlich gerne. Am Besten pro Thema immer nur eine Frage, dann kommt man nicht so schnell durcheinander. Ihre beiden Fragen werde ich aber in diesem Thema behandeln.
Kamera und Skype:
Allgemein lässt sich dazu auch sagen, das nicht Linux schuld, ist das es keine TreiberCDs gibt oder Treiber in den Paketarchiven, sondern die Hardwarehersteller. Für Windows schreiben sie ja auch Treiber und stellen diese sogar Microsoft zur Verfügung, damit diese über Microsoft Update ausgeliefert werden (dies kostet die meisten Hersteller auch Geld).
Skype selbst hat ja keine Treiber, sondern verwendet die im System installierten Kameras. Leider verwendet Skype für die Aufrufe teilweise ein eigenes Format, so das bei bestimmten Kamera zusätzliche Programme installiert werden müssen. in den Systemeinstellungen werden nur Geräte angezeigt, die auch funktionieren und Treiber haben. Allerdings nicht alle, Geräte, viele USB-Geräte lassen sich hier nicht finden. Es ist unter Linux mehr eine Übersicht und kann auch für Einstellungen verwendet werden. Installiert wird hier jedoch so gut wie nichts.
Wie Herr Hahn bereits geschrieben hat, wird die Kamera von Ubuntu direkt unterstützt.
Installieren Sie eines der beiden dort angegeben Programme über das Ubuntu Software Center. Entweder guvcview oder cheese. beide Programme können auf die Kamera zugreifen und eignen sich gut zum test. Falls die Kamera hier Bilder liefert, aber über Skype nicht aktiviert werden kann, müssen wir weiter sehen.
Falls die Kamera nicht funktioniert, wäre es wichtig zu wissen wie Sie Skype installiert haben, es gibt da verschiedene Varianten, Und welche Ubuntu Version Sie verwenden, 14.04 LTS oder 15.04?.
Thunderbird funktioniert unter Linux nicht andres als unter Windows, ich vermute Sie haben irgendwo einen Haken vergessen. Man kann sogar auf das gleich Profilverzeichnis (dort liegen sowohl die Einstellungen, als auch die Daten und Add-Ons für jedes Profil) zugreifen und müsste damit alle Einstellungen nur einmal vornehmen.

Sehr geehrter Herr Kleemann,
ich bedanke mich für Ihre schnelle Antwort auf meine frage vom 19.08.2015 zur funktion meiner WebCam „Logitech HD C310“. Ihr Kollege Hahn hatte mir zu diese Frage einen Link direkt auf die Software-Seite zur „Logitech HD C310“ für LINUX geschickt. Damit fingen die Probleme an. Aber der Rehei nach:
Ubuntu, Vers. 15.04, habe ich von der LINUX-DVD „Linux-Insider“ auf der extra freigeräumten 2. FP meines PCś installiert. Falsch machen kann man da eigentlich nichts. Skype habe ich mir vom Ubuntu-Software-Center geladen und installiert.
Meine WebCam funktioniert mit „cheese“ einwandfrei. Unter Skype – Optionen – Video wird mir die Kamera mit der Bezeichnung „UVC Camera (046d:081b) (/dev/video1)“ angezeigt. dort zeigt sie mir auch das aufgenommene Bild.
In Skype (Vers. 4.3 für Linux, so wird mir das gezeigt) finde ich keinen Aufruf für Video-Anruf. Telefonanrufe funktionieren.
Auf der Seite, die mir Herr Hahn genannt hat sthet, dass man die dort aufgeführten Befehlszeilen über das Terminal eingeben soll, damit alle funktionen von Skype zur Verfügung stehen. Genau dort entsteht ein Problem.
Mit der Tastenkombination Strg-Alt-T (lt. Anweisung in „Kurseinheit 4: Ubuntu als Live-System) rufe ich das Terminal auf. Dort kann ich die erste Befehlszeile eingeben. Nach dem Betätigen der Enter-Taste, um zur nächsten Befehlseingabe zu kommen, fordert das System das „sudo-Passwort an. Die Tastatur ist blockiert, so dass ich weder ein Passwort noch irgend etwas anderes eingeben kann. Ich kann nur noch über das rote Kreuzchen oben links das Fenster schließen und die Abfrage mit der Maus bestätigen.
Das ist eines der Probleme, die ich gelöst haben möchte, bevor ich an weitere Dinge gehe.
Eine weitere Frage sende ich Ihnen gleich im Anschluss.

Hallo Herr Heinrich,
bitte verwenden Sie immer das Antwortfeld wenn Sie Antworten zu einem bestehenden Thema geben wollen. So bleibt alles beisammen und man muss nicht quer durch verschiedenen Themen die Informationen suchen. Ich habe Ihre Antwort nun mit der eigentlichen Frage verschmolzen.
Ansonsten scheint das Problem mit der Bibliothek von Video für Linux zusammenzuhängen. Skype ist leider nicht auf die aktuelle Bibliothek umgestellt, deshalb muss man sich da mit einer weiteren Bibliothek behelfen, die das ersetzt. das hängt damit zusammen das Microsoft den Linux Client zwar mit dem Kauf von Skype übernommen hat, aber eigentlich kein Interesse an weiterer Entwicklung hat. Schließlich soll man ja Windows verwenden.

zunächst vorweg: Ich kein Mitarbeiter des Verlags und somit kein Kollege von Herrn Kleemann sondern lese derzeit in diesem Forum mit und beantworte auch Fragen.
Zur Passworteingabe bei sudo und anderen Gelegenheiten:
Unter Linux wird im Terminal grundsätzlich keine Rückantwort zur Eingabe von Passwörten geschrieben, auch nicht irgendwelche Punkte oder Sternchen. Damit soll Personen, die Ihnen über die Schulter schauen verborgen bleiben, wie viele Zeichen Sie eingetippt haben. Der Anmeldebildschirm in der grafischen Oberfläche macht da eine Ausnahme.
Mit anderen Worten, die Tastatur ist nicht blockiert. Tippen Sie das Passwort, das Sie beim Anmelden eingeben genau so ein und drücken die Enter-Taste.
